My Smart Partner: My Phone

I don't understand why life becomes so miserable when you don't have your smart phone with you. In today's world we have become dependent upon smart phones as these small devices help our day to day tasks. These multi-functional gadgets keep ourselves updated with latest news, are able to send messages, pictures, assess the internet, email, social networking sites, play games, music and many more. your mobile phone is you true companion like you own shadow which remains with you even in the rain, under the sun, in the storms, in the office, at your home, in the car, during a bike ride, in the bathroom, in the events, in the festivals and occasions, on Sundays, in your bed, on your study table, in meadows, on the evening walk and so on.

Losing your smart phone is more than a disaster. It is suicidal when you can't capture your selfie at a memorable moment, may be its your picture with Eiffel Tower or Taj Mahal or with your cute baby having most wonderful smile of the day. If your are not on your cell phone it seems to people as you don't exist. You can't be contacted any more . Even you are not able to know what the hell is going with your friends! You need to know where the things are. I had not thought in my wildest dream that my first smart phone would come with so many advanced features and functionality. Now it has become an integral part of my life, meeting my every expectation.

I can’t imagine a single day without my smart phone!

For me, SMART means:

S: Special to me from dawn to dim.

M: Mellifluous key

A: Available all the time

R: Reliable at any situation

T: Thrifty

And that’s how my smart phone is.

Actually I lost my previous phone few weeks ago. Since then I have been living with deep sorrow feeling detached from my friends and family. This phone was not so much smart besides being very expensive. I badly needed a phone which saves lot of money, having all smart features like advanced operating system, GPS navigation, smooth touch screen, good quality camera, can run useful application, a high seed mobile broadband, motion sensors, 3G internet web browsing etc.

Some important features that I need in my first smart phone are:

Affordable

I don’t want to spend a lot of money for the first time. Who would not like to get a smart phone with only few bucks!

Battery with long life

It must have a high capacity battery with a portable charger as compare to already existing smart phones in my affordable range. I mean it should not be like that you are going to take a picture on the first birthday of your baby and you have to say, “OMG! The battery has gone!!”

A good quality camera
I am not going into too much technicalities here but my smart phone must have a good quality front facing camera which can capture a better selfie quickly like those in Moto X. No girl would like to be look like a ghost in her picture!

User friendly
It should be easy going with me. I don’t need to do anything with what is inside it! I just want that the world must not be more than a click away from me.

Easy download
It must be application friendly that can download all popular applications of general purposes.

Music

I am fond of music. Whether working in the kitchen or ironing clothes, in the bad having a coffee or at my terrace, every time you can find me with my earphones! So my smart phone must have a good quality music player too.

Good speed
It should not work like we are living in the “Stone Era”. It should be “Fast and Furious”.

Entertaining
It should not be so boring and must have some video games in it for having some fun time.

Stylish
It is the most important feature that a smart phone must have. It must look so handsome and stylish that your friends get forced to feel jealous!

I was so much confused that in which phone I could get all these smart features!! It’s difficult to have all qualities in a single cell phone. I researched a lot and finally decided to go with new Moto E with only 7000 rupees! I thanked God that I eventually got my dream smart phone. The new Moto E has many new traits that one can’t imagine in a single phone in this price range and leaves a long lasting experience.

These are all awesome features that amazed me greatly to buy this real “SMART PHONE”.

Appealing design
It is very compact with the eye-catching beautiful curves which are a landmark in its design. The depression on the Moto logo aids in grip and style. Its curved back fits well into the palm giving pebble like feel of the phone making it long usage less stressful. The metal finish around the camera makes this phone look very standard. Overall body is of rubber, which gives a firm grip and dashing look.

Built quality
Quality is far better than other phones of similar price. It has smaller size and feels great in the hand. The buttons are a bit stiff, which I personally liked as they didn't get pressed easily in the purse or while watching videos. Moto E has a gorilla glass 3. Screen size is apt for one hand usage and especially when you are roaming on the streets you don't want to drop the phone too often.

Butter Smooth Touch
It has a butter smooth touch which is simply awesome! It can be a sole reason to buy this phone. Once the bands and grip covers release, you can play with colors, mix-and-match bands and cases.

Amazing Screen

The Screen is very nice. The phone looks like a pretty expensive. Screen Resolution is good. It is smudge free and touch responsiveness is amazing. 4.5 inches Screen seems like a sweet spot for me for all activities.

Vibrant Display

It has an awesome Moto Display which is quite vibrant, descent and smooth. All details are visible and animations look gorgeous. The quality HD resolutions are also good. Text looks fine on this display and is comfortable to read. With Moto Display, the Moto E stays dark until I nudge it or get a notification. With Motorola Assist’s Sleep Mode and Meeting Mode, I can tell Moto E when I don’t want to be bothered.

Long Lasting SMART battery

On very first day, after charging it for full I could install lot of Apps, play music, use WiFi, 2G & 3G, have whatsapp chats  and around half of  battery was still left after around 18 hours of usage , it was just amazing! The phone can last for two days (individual usage patterns vary) with moderate usage and charge quickly too.

Good Camera

The 5MP camera has auto-focus and is good enough to utilize its capabilities. Pictures look fine in daylight. The front camera is a must need that captures good selfies.

Loud Speaker and Good Call Quality

The speaker has to be one of the best I've heard in a budget phone. Its front facing speaker makes watching videos very enjoyable.Sound is crisp, loud and clear. Head phones are very smart looking. The signal reception seems to be better than other phones of similar range.

User-friendly Operating System

I am very happy with Moto's decision to stick with plain android. It leaves with smooth performance and plain vanilla experience. The Android Lollipop is a surprise package from Motorola and a treat to use. The boring old Holo UI has been replaced by a colorful, vibrant and sensible material design at an affordable price. Its biggest advantage has to be the lack of bloat and the clean skin they've adopted. Moto E aims to do that by providing a simple, basic phone that aims to suffice a user's basic needs.

Free Ram

I don’t know much about these computer terminologies but still quite excited to know that new MOTO E(Second generation) has ram of over 400mb most of the time; when heavy usage, still more than 300mb available. The biggest advantage of buying this stock android phone for me is the available free ram.

Media

This phone comes with the usual host of Google apps, giving all media functionality at your fingertips.

Overall, this is the best phone for Android first-timer users like me and those looking for a simple, clean and attractive phone. It has now become my best friend solving my all problems in seconds!

Now I can never live even a single minute without it. It talks with me when I am alone. It walks with me wherever I go. It remains with me all the time. I am amazed that how I have been able to search such a phone with all smart features.

Thanks to MOTOROLA for this.

Miss You Grand Ma!

Grand Mother! The mother of our mother! If mother is sea of love then grandmother is ocean of love. If mother is your first teacher, it’s the grandmother who becomes your first friend. If your mother is your guardian then your grandmother is an angel.

I have never seen my grandfather i.e. my father’s father and lived with my dadi for only short period of time. I have extreme affection with my maternal grandparents (I call them nana-nani) because my whole childhood was spent with them. When I was 18 months old my grandmother brought me to her home. My mother was too young to take care of me and three other siblings. Since then I was taken care of by my grandparents.

My nani, a beautiful elderly women will always be an adorning part of my life. She is my inspiration. She kept me in her arms when she needed a hug with deep warmth. She nailed my fingers to make me walk while her feet were floundering.  She used to cook delicious dishes for me at the time when she needed to be served. She helped me to finish my homework even when her spectacles were not there. She used to cover my note books with her trembling hands.  She put different varieties of meal in my lunch box every day. She always took me to school and came to receive me after it. I still remember her stories of “Monkeys and Crocodile”, Thirsty Crow”, “Greedy dog” her poems “gol gol pani, mummy meri rani”, “machali jal ki rani hai” etc.

I have often heard that only good people are taken away by the God. And one among them was my grandmother. She was gone too early for me to give her everything she deserved. I could do nothing for her when she needed extreme care, love and compassion. But I know her selfless love is always with me no matter what I have done for her. She had taught me many things like discipline, care, selfless love, tolerance, hard work, perseverance, and trust in almighty god, a good sense of humor and a beautiful smile that relieves all pains.

I always search in the sky that which of the star belongs to her. Probably it is that which shines the most as she was none other than an angel in my life. Indeed earth has lost a great person and heaven has got a divine soul. I pray to god, “please take care of my grandma”

Oh god, why you took her away from me!

Why do you feel that I don’t need her?

Was I giving her so much pain?

Was I hoping so much from her?

By the way it’s your greedy choice.

Don’t you have so many angels with you?

Why don’t you know I need her!

I need her forever and ever!

To have a smile of hope and love,

To give her the heaven of blossoms here!

Please let her sleep with entire calm,

Please give her extreme love and warmth,

Please rest her soul with at most peace,

And let her bless me from stars of galaxies.

Life is not so difficult!

“She got 96 in Mathematics. She must take mathematics optional along with physics and chemistry”, Said Sharma sir. “No, I want to be a doctor. I will take biology”, I interrupted. My parents were very happy when I scored 90% in secondary exam and why they should not be; after all their daughter was very brilliant who had never gone to take any coaching classes and still managed to get such good marks in his exam. Actually they belonged to a small town where education was not given such importance but they were very proud to educate their elder daughter Shyama who recently cleared her B.Ed. entrance examination and was getting ready to join her new college. She was being sent to a girl’s hostel provided by the college. Everything was going very good. I scored good marks in XI too. My sister got engaged to Sandeep, a post graduate teacher. Soon her marriage was fixed to be held in February of the next year.

Everybody specially my mother was very happy. She had many dreams in her life but could not accomplish because of adverse circumstances. She had been married when she was only thirteen. At that time she could not even complete her 9th standard. She was very good in sports and gymnastic but society never favored her in her choices! My father, a simple nature gentle person, not much educated, forced to feed a family of fifteen when he was only seventeen year old. There was not so much scope of earning in that small town and he somehow, crossing all ups and downs of life, managed to lead our family to that condition where I and my three other siblings were getting regular education in government schools, having better food and sufficient facilities to live everyday life. Life was going very smooth along with lot of dreams that were being piled up one over another with time.

Those days of happiness were no longer remained for us. Creator had destroyed all our dreams. My father, a very naive person was betrayed by his best friend in some business matter. He lost all of his capital along with all means of livelihood. The day of my sister’s marriage was coming swiftly and in typical Indian society it’s very difficult for a lower middle class father to arrange a marriage ceremony of his daughter and also at the time when he had nothing more than an educated sincere girl.  In our society daughter's wedding means pouring everything you have earned, or saved, it means breaking fixed deposits, selling assets and taking loans etc.  The remaining assets were gone with her wedding.

It was the time when I was forced by the situations to leave my studies. I was supposed to remain at home helping my mother in her household work. There were only two options left for me either to do or to die. My dream was about to buried in mud but I did not accept defeat by the hands of destiny. At the age of seventeen I decided to leave the town with my younger sister and pursue my education further with only the capital of twenty five hundred rupees arranged by my mother with extreme difficulty. It was the last time when I asked for money to my mother. I along with my sister left the town and destined ourselves to an unknown future with a lot of dreams. We had time when we could not manage square meal a day but decided never to go back home without achieving something.

I started tutoring at a local coaching institute along with the college within few days. My first monthly salary was rupees 500. It was a big achievement for both of us. I tried hard to manage my college studies along with my part time job. I had to work fourteen hours or more a day. My sister used to take care of household work. She also started tutoring at home. Besides fulfilling our basic needs like rent of the room, stationery, grocery, uniform etc we decided to save some money too.  After seven years of struggle, finally I became the head of a reputed coaching institute. Though I could not be a doctor but became able enough to fulfill basic needs of my family.  My sister completed her doctorate in science and now working as assistant professor in a well recognized university. I could not give my helping hands to my parents in making my elder sister marry but became able enough to spend a little on the marriage of my younger sister.  I still think that decision of moving away from my town was a boon or a bane! I was certainly a blessed child of my parents who dared to let me go to achieve my dreams. Now I am married and live in metropolitan city with my parent in laws, loving husband and a sweet daughter. Life is not so difficult until you make it difficult.  It is true to say:

“Where there's a will there's a way.”

My Black List

Black has always been my favorite color. I love almost every thing and anything in black; black Bike, black car, black mobile, black T-shirts and jeans and so on. Black is very classy and gives me royal feeling.  If I have to list down five things in black which I desire most, it goes like below

1. Black Car : A black car looks royal to me. My dream car is of Black color with golden colored seat covers, that will look so classy and royal to me. If it combines a popular brand it can beat any car in looks atleast.

2. Black Computer: A desktop computer with a big black screen (not blank screen :D), black cabinet, black speakers, black keyboard and mouse with small and blue LEDs shines at borders along with high powered Processor and motherboard is the dream I used to have in my college days. I would love to play games on it in a dark room to get actual feel of games. Colors while working on photographs and browsing internet on it, will give true impression of colors.

3. Black Mobile: Mobile is only gadget I use most of time in my daily routine, I would love have a black iPhone or a black google nexus which not only show royal-ness and class but having power and features to enjoy it fully (and to show-off :D ).

4. Black Suit: The color black is always associated with Power you have. A black suit is sign of pride for a man who wears it. It show his class and maturity. I always wanted to wear a classy black suit and going to my workplace (If I get that much high position ever :P), so this makes in this list.

5. Black Diamond : A black diamond for my wife is the last and most important thing I would love to have and gift to her.

Five Zests of my life.

For me each day brings new adventures, followed by the excitement to do something new or differently. Selecting just 5 things or people which add Zest to our life is quite tricky. So here are 5 best things which add zest to my life.
Living the routine, the tedious, hectic and the same diurnal activities batters the fun loving kid in you. Wouldn't life be lifeless if you turn yourself into yet another machine? Stepping out of normal, doing crazy things, enjoying the moments you could cherish for the rest of your life is what that adds color to your life and you.

5 thing which add that Zest to my life which makes me different and raise the bar every time for me.

1. My Motorcycle:

I bought my motorcycle as my very first vehicle from my salary. Since this is my owned first vehicle it has a special place in my heart. When I start her, sound of engine, vibrations inspire me add that Zest to my heart to take it those place which are far away from cities, where there is no crowd and no traffic. Riding bike on lonely roads to place which not known to many people is magical way to forgot all of your worries and just love your motorcycle. After returning from a ride, taking care of bike by getting it serviced and washed strengthen bond between us. Whenever I look at my bike it always looks inviting me and zest me up to take it to its favorite places, Mountains.

2. Photography
I got my hand on camera in my childhood, when I was 12-13 years old, that was simple, rolled film camera of red color (I forgot the company name). I bought my own digital camera in 2009, it was of Canon, again it is a simple point and shoot camera. I used it to learn basics in photography. 2 years after buying that, I got my first DSLR, canon T3i and started clicking photos of various places. There days, whenever I go out, I took my SLR always with me. At start I was not getting much of feedback from others on my photographs, but as I kept learning and improving, good comments and scope for improvements started coming from many photographers and people. Whenever I go out on a trip or ride, it becomes an objective to click photos of that place. Photography has added the colorful zest to my life which keep adding beautiful memories of the places I visited and people I met.

3. Reading
Reading is not just my hobby, but it helps me to get information about anything. It also helps me to understand different views on the topics in which I am interested. I read novels, biographies, blogs, news articles and almost everything I come across. I helps me to connect with the world and add zest to my life.

4. My Family
Family we all know lives with us all the time and we spend our every moment with them. They not only take good care of my needs but they give that extra happiness and excitement in my life through their thrilling and amazing ideas and work. They always guide me to do right things in life. They motivate me and inspire me to do things I love, they support me in everything I do. Just watching them and talking to them change my mood from low to high. The zest they add me in life is the one which kept me going on the right path and do things which I always dream to do.

5. My niece and other babies

Kids are like God, they give true reactions to everything. I love kids when they smile, I love when they are moody, infect I love them in every mood. I love to click many photos of them. I enjoy most when I play with them. Their smile is enough for forget all tension and worries. I love to become a kid when I am around any kid.

Couple on Bike to Dhanaulti- Day 2

Day -2:

We were out of bed before 0700 Hrs. and got to know that it rained in night too. I checked weather forecast on mobile before looking out from window and found heavy rains in mobile , then I checked outside and as expected there were heavy clouds over hills with no views. We thought of skipping Sarkunda Devi trek because of unfavorable weather (and creating one more reason to ride back there :d). At 9:00 am we started from Kaddukhal towards Chamba and beauty of nature around the road tried to compensate the loss of trek by a smaller amount. We rode with easy pace till Chamba and reached there in no time.

After reaching there we decided to see Tehri Dam (24 Kms from Chamba) and turn handle towards that direction. It took little more than an hour to reach near Tehri Dam because of bad condition of roads and few marriage processions on the road. Relaxed for half an hour at Tehri dam, clicked few pics and returned back to Chamba.

It was noon when we crossed Chamba and entered a hill side restaurant to refill us. Restaurant was newly built but having quite good facilities, food and service (recommended for everyone going there).

After having our fill we crossed Kanatal and reach Rishikesh at 3:00 pm. There was huge traffic jam between Rishikesh and Haridwar, negotiating that jam we reached Har ki Pauri and parked our bike there. Went to Gange's Ghat, sat on the bank and talked about a lot of things. After few minutes we walked to market behind ghats and had some snacks there (puri bhaji, aalo tikki, paani puri etc).

Started last lap of our weekend ride from Haridwar at 5 pm. Roads till Roorkee was in very very bad shape with a less amount of road and huge amount of pot holes with equally huge traffic rushing towards Delhi. Reached Roorkee and took a butt break with Shikanji on a dhaba. Then rode again till Muzzaffar nagar without any relief from traffic (which is obvious part of this road) along with a lot of Barats (due to Akshay Tritiya) on the road. Just before Meerut Bypass, took a brief break for dinner and thereafter rode non-stop till Delhi. Entered Delhi at 11 Pm (because of traffic and took a wrong road because of a stupid sign on the road which is directing towards a closed road for Delhi). Reached home at half hour past mid-night and crashed on bed.

Pics from Day:
